After Prompt privacy policy
Updated 4 November 2026. This policy covers the After Prompt Chrome extension, version 0.1.0, built by Omnius, and messages sent through the After Prompt contact page.
What the extension does
After Prompt helps you inspect and save the search queries, sources, citations and brand mentions exposed in your ChatGPT conversations. It does not access private model reasoning.
Conversation data handled
When you use capture, the extension reads the available prompt and answer text, conversation identifiers and URLs, search queries, source URLs and domains, citation references, and brand mentions. Your saved workspaces, brand settings, capture history and display preferences are also stored locally. Conversation text can include personal or sensitive information that you put into ChatGPT; avoid capturing information you do not want to keep on your device.
Observation is limited to chatgpt.com. The extension observes relevant conversation responses to find available search data; it does not track your browsing across unrelated sites or record general keystrokes, mouse movements or clicks.
Capture controls and local storage
Automatic saving is on by default after setup when a workspace is selected. You can turn it off in Settings → General → Automatic answer saving. You can also inspect a conversation manually. Saved captures and workspaces stay in Chrome local extension storage in your own Chrome profile. The extension does not automatically upload them to Omnius, synchronize them to a cloud account, or send analytics about your conversations.
ChatGPT requests and authentication
ChatGPT continues to communicate with OpenAI. For a signed-in capture, the extension’s packaged script may use the existing ChatGPT session inside the ChatGPT tab to request that conversation from ChatGPT. Session credentials are handled transiently inside that tab and are not saved with captures, sent to Omnius, or exported. OpenAI handles its service under its own policies. Some search fields may be unavailable, particularly in anonymous sessions.
External images
Source-domain icons may load from Google’s favicon service, and source images may load from their external image hosts. These image requests disclose the requested domain or image address and ordinary connection information, such as the requesting IP address, to those providers. The extension does not attach your prompt, answer or saved capture to these image requests. External images are not remotely executed code.
Exports and sharing
Exports are initiated by you and can contain original conversation text and research data. When you export or share a file, you control where it goes. Copies shared with another person or service are outside the extension’s local deletion controls.
Retention and deletion
Local records remain until you delete them, clear extension data or remove the extension. Deleting a workspace removes its saved answers. Exported, backed-up or shared files must be deleted separately. Other people with access to your device or Chrome profile may be able to access local records.
Use of data
The extension uses this information to provide its conversation research and inspection features. It does not sell user data, use conversation data for advertising, transfer it for unrelated purposes, or use it to determine creditworthiness or for lending.
Contact messages
If you use our contact form, your name, email address, topic and message are sent to the Omnius team through its Slack channel so we can review and reply. Include only the information needed for your request; do not send passwords, session tokens or private conversation exports. Contact messages are separate from captures stored by the extension.
Questions and changes
For privacy questions or help with deletion, use the After Prompt contact form. Material changes to these practices will be reflected in this policy and the relevant product disclosures.
